TREATMENT
I am Andy Cohen; a Psychoanalyst providing therapeutic treatment to adults who feel stuck, anxious, overwhelmed or lost in someway. I offer the necessary time and space to think together about how you got here and what it all means. My hope is that you will emerge from our work, feeling a whole lot freer and so much more of yourself. I am based in Johannesburg, South Africa and work from my consulting rooms in Craighall.
EXPERIENCE
I am a registered member of the South African Psychoanalytical Association (SAPA), and the International Psychoanalytical Association (IPA), founded by Sigmund Freud in 1908. I have a soft spot for the arts with a background in Community Art Counselling (Lefika La Phodiso), using art in therapeutic interventions. I also hold a MA Fine Art (University of the Witwatersand), I am a TEDx Speaker and author of Parenting Psychoanalysed: Letters To A Parent (Routledge 2025). I also consider myself a life-long scholar; always working on myself, honing my professional skills and deepening my clinical experience.
